Workers’ rights
Labour standards
Most people do not read the Labour Standards Code. They just want a fair shift, fair pay, and to be treated with respect. I write about the everyday problems workers bring to me: hours cut without notice, sick days that do not exist in practice, and rules that look fine on paper but fall apart on the floor.
- Sick leave, scheduling and unpaid hours
- Union rights and fair bargaining
- Precarious, part-time and temporary work
- The right to refuse unsafe work
