There is currently one strike happening in the province by the Emergency medical dispatchers represented by CUPW Local 015.
More than 60 emergency medical dispatchers represented by CUPW Local 015, Nova Scotia Medical Communications, began striking on July 17, 2026. These workers answer medical 911 calls and dispatch ground and air ambulances across Nova Scotia. The main issues include wages, staffing and working conditions. Essential services continue under an agreement imposed by the Nova Scotia Labour Board.
